about
This Psalm wears on me - sort of in a good but sobering way. I know that suffering is a reality in this world, but I also know that He is faithful, my God's faithfulness is not determined by the longevity or severity of the suffering I encounter. He is good and he promises us joy in Christ!
lyrics
Verse 1
We were like those who dream
We were like the found
We were all the fortune of Zion restored
We were like those who dance
We were like the fires
You could hear the roar or laughter
Pre Chorus
We hear them say
Their God has done great things for them
Chorus
He has done great things
He will do great things
for His own
Post Chorus 2
when we are filled with joy (x2)
Verse 2
We are now those who weep
Buried in our tears
We are breathing pain in with the air
We are now those who wait
Looking for the turn
when you will see us running home with joy
Bridge
Restore our fortunes, O Lord
grow gardens in the desert
make joy in our despair
End
when we are filled with joy (x2)
fill us Lord with joy (x2)
He has done great things
He will do great things
for His own
